I read that's it's just bring your liver enzymes down. But don't stop the progressive of it..
Urso slows down the progression but there is no cure for PBC. There are quite a few members on my Facebook support page who have had PBC for 30 to 40 years and are now in their 80s which gives me loads of hope for the future. One day, maybe there will be a cure.
I was told Urso slows down the process, but there is no cure. There are people in this group that have had it for 20 years. I was just diagnosed in January, but I am hopeful that my body responds well, so that I have years of life left.
I’ve had pbc for 10 years and I am 83. Numbers are great and I feel great. I go for blood work and US every 6 months. Been on ursodiol 300 mg 2x day. I think it keeps pbc stable!!
Ok I don’t like that thought, little scary.
This is new to me and part of the reason I’m trying to find a gastroenterologist with experience in hepatology. My liver enzymes dropped dramatically as soon as I started Ursodiol 12 years ago and have been normal or high but not outrageous since then. I can’t say I feel confident with the information I’ve gotten from doctors in the past ten years.
