1) eat breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up
2) late lunch: (vegetables | salad) + fish or chicken
3) NO DINNER - maybe carrot; apple at 4pm
4) all food in 9 hours (9am - 5pm)
5) walk 3 miles/day

Ask your doctor for Ozempic or Mounjaro. I’m diabetic so I’m on Mounjaro and my Liver doctor is very happy about it because he says it’s good for the liver.

How can I lose weight with PBC despite making healthy food changes?

It's frustrating when you're making good dietary changes but not seeing weight loss results. With PBC, weight management can be more complex than just cutting out processed foods.

Here are some suggestions that may help:

Focus on portion sizes and meal timing
- Try eating smaller meals more frequently throughout the day instead of large meals, which can make digestion easier
- Even healthy foods can contribute to weight maintenance if portions are too large

Prioritize these food choices
- Whole grains like brown rice, oats, and whole-grain bread (high in fiber, help you feel full)
- Fatty fish like salmon and sardines (anti-inflammatory omega-3s)
- Leafy greens and vegetables (at least 5 servings daily)
- Nuts in moderation (healthy fats, vitamin E)
- Low-fat or nonfat dairy products

Stay hydrated
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day, which can help with fatigue and overall metabolism

Add regular physical activity
- Exercise most days of the week, even just walking for 30 minutes
- This helps maintain healthy weight and supports bone health

Work with your healthcare team
- Consider consulting with a registered dietitian who understands PBC
- Your doctor can check if any nutrient deficiencies or medications might be affecting your weight
- Fat malabsorption from PBC can complicate weight management

Remember, weight loss with PBC requires patience and professional guidance to ensure you're getting adequate nutrition while managing your condition.
