Fatigue is an extremely common symptom of PBC, affecting about 65% of people with the condition. This isn't just regular tiredness - PBC-related fatigue can include ongoing muscle weakness, lack of motivation, and cognitive issues. About 20% of people report severe fatigue that significantly impacts their quality of life, so you're definitely not alone in this struggle. While traditional PBC treatments like ursodiol and Ocaliva are essential for managing the disease, they unfortunately don't typically help with fatigue. However, there are several strategies that might help:

1. Try to be more active, even though it seems counterintuitive. Start with very small goals like a 5-minute morning walk
2. Take short power naps (10-20 minutes) earlier in the day, but avoid napping after 3 PM
3. Review your medications with your doctor, especially antihistamines which can cause drowsiness
4. Consider having your doctor check for vitamin deficiencies, as PBC can affect nutrient absorption

What dr prescribes the Adderall? I have a circadian rhythm sleep disorder also and take Armodafinal which helps some of the time too. If I don’t take it I can take a 4 hr nap and still sleep 12 hrs.

I have that problem all the time. I take 60mg of Adderall everyday and it helps sometimes. Some days I take my Adderall and will drink 2 energy drinks then within 2 hours im falling back asleep. It's nothing for me to sleep 16 to 18 hours a day. Wake up for a couple of hours then I'm right back asleep.
