Members shared how PBC has reshaped their eating habits in many ways, from cutting back on red meat, salt, sugar, and fried foods to adopting diets like the Mediterranean plan focused on fish, chicken, fruits, and vegetables. Several members highlighted the challenge of managing low appetite and nausea, with some relying on protein shakes, bone broth, and small frequent meals to keep nourished throughout the day. A recurring theme was learning to listen to your body, read food labels carefully, and make gradual changes that feel sustainable.

I have been on Ursodiol for 2 years. Enzyme levels are stable-blood work is improved substantially and cholesterol is stable. I eat healthy and it definitely helps. Every person is different so research what works for you.

I was dx last year with fatty liver after my second fibroscan. I've cut back on red meat and sugar. Try to eat more fruits and vegetables. I drink beet juice. Heard it's good for the liver. Need to lose more weight - about 10 to 15 pounds. It's a struggle.

I have upped my protein intake which has helped me feel better. I recently learned that we need almost 1 gram of protein per pound of weight a day! If anyone wants help with this please reach out. I work in wellness and would love to share what I've learned.

Watching my salt intake (nutritionist recommended staying under 2000mg) very limited processed sugar and low fat (sticking to good fats) very limited dairy and no red meat. Sodium has been the most challenging but I’ve gotten good at using herbs and lemon on everything lol.
