Good Morning Lisianne, Given that you take Urso w/ food, are taking a PPI and still have the condition, I'll pass along a cheap OTC remedy that my Ole Country Doc recommend decades ago ... TUMS. As he put it, 'Why give you another $$$ medication when Tums will do the job, and you will have relief much faster.' (Tums is Calcium Carbonate ... neutralizes stomach acid and, it provides your body w/ Calcium.) He wasn't fibbing ... it truly works rapidly! And again, it's OTC. Definitely advise your Provider. But honestly... Why wait until December? Consider calling ... why continue 'suffering'! Do hope you soon feel better!

Good Morning Lisianne, for situations like you describe, it is actually recommended to take Urso with a meal. If you find yourself in a pinch, have a few crackers and/or milk. Food does not interfere w/ the body's absorption of Urso. Regarding your time change query, I'd recommend speaking w/ your Doc. Truly hope you have relief soon!

Question: Can I change the timing of my second ursodiol dose from evening to noon to help with heartburn symptoms?

Some myPBCteam members have found success by adjusting their ursodiol timing to manage side effects. One member shared that taking it at night helped with digestive issues, while another worked with their doctor to adjust both timing and dosage to reduce side effects while maintaining effectiveness. However, it's important to discuss any changes to your medication schedule with your healthcare provider first. They can evaluate if adjusting your dosing schedule is appropriate and safe for your specific situation. They may also want to explore if there are other factors contributing to your symptoms that need to be addressed.
