Hi, I am 30 years old. Recently I have diagnosed pbc and the medicines are doing well. But few days before I had dexa scan that showed I have spine osteoporosis which score is -2.6 but I have no back pain or no symptoms.
Anyone here have osteoporosis and taking bisphosphonate? Also if yes is there any jaw or teeth problem occurred? I am very stressed
.....
I don't know much about osteoporosis learning about it. Ursocol is working good for me. How are you finding it? I am also very active but this liver condition maybe is the cause that osteoporosis occurs. But hope for the best.
I was just recently diagnosed in June with PBC. I’m 51 years old not in menopause yet and I also just got the Dexa scan and was at -2.76 and have osteoporosis in my spine and neck! I had no idea as I’m very active, I strength train, play tennis, exercise, etc. I’m also very hesitant to start osteoporosis medicine for the same reason the dental and other concerns. I have started ursidiol but haven’t had my labs done yet to see if it’s working. I’m also very concerned.
First of all, take a breath — it's completely understandable to feel stressed, but the fact that your PBC medications are working well and you caught the osteoporosis early is genuinely good news. Being proactive puts you in a strong position.
