When my GI added Iquirvo to my meds, I felt a lot stronger. I also have to have I cup of coffee in the morning. I'm following the Mediterranean diet. I am also lactose and gluten intolerant. Stopping those made a big difference. I found a lactose free protein shake, take all my vitamins, and do a low impact exercise daily. I am retired, so I can rest when tired. Just keep trying different approaches for your body. Prayers and Peace

Fatigue is one of the most common and frustrating parts of living with PBC β you are definitely not alone in dealing with it! The good news is there are several strategies that may help.
Here are some approaches worth exploring:
- Get moving (gently) β Small amounts of physical activity, like a short walk or light stretching, can actually boost energy levels over time. Always check with your doctor before starting anything new.
- Try light therapy β 45 minutes of bright light (10,000 lux box) each morning may help regulate your sleep-wake cycle and reduce daytime tiredness.
- Take short naps β A 20-minute power nap after lunch can recharge you without disrupting nighttime sleep.
- Check your nutrition β PBC can affect how your body absorbs vitamins and nutrients, which can worsen fatigue. Your doctor can run tests to check for deficiencies.
- Review your medications β Some medications can contribute to fatigue as a side effect. A doctor or pharmacist can help adjust timing or dosage.
- Address sleep quality β Reducing screen time before bed and practicing good sleep habits can make a real difference. Members of myPBCteam have shared what works for them too. One myPBCteam member said physical activity plays a huge role, even just walking. Another found that a short afternoon nap kept them going through the rest of the day while still working full time.
The most important step is talking to your doctor about your fatigue, especially if it's affecting your daily life. They can look into underlying factors like nutrient deficiencies or thyroid issues that may be making things worse.
