Hello ! Yes I have dry eyes, my eye doctor plugged my tear ducts which helped. I still use over the counter eye drops. The ones my dr prescribed were $978, no thanks !

Many myPBCteam members manage dry eyes in similar ways. Here are some approaches that are commonly used:

- Artificial tears or eye drops used throughout the day
- Nighttime eye gels for extra moisture while sleeping
- Wearing goggles or sunglasses outside to protect eyes from wind, air, and dust
- Prescription eye drops (like Xiidra, which your ophthalmologist has already prescribed!)
- Switching from contact lenses to glasses on days when dryness is especially bad
- Punctal occlusion — a minor procedure that blocks tear ducts to keep moisture in the eyes, for more severe cases It sounds like your ophthalmologist is already on top of things with Xiidra and the heated masks — that's a great start! It's also worth keeping your liver specialist in the loop about your dry eye symptoms, as they can help coordinate your overall care.
