Also question about Protein drinks and if they are hard on the system?

How are kidney function irregularities related to PBC, and are protein drinks safe?

A Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) checks multiple aspects of your health, including electrolytes like calcium, potassium, and sodium, as well as liver function markers like bilirubin and albumin. While the CMP monitors kidney function alongside liver health, the search results don't specifically address a direct connection between mild kidney irregularities and PBC.

It's important to discuss these findings with your doctor, as they can evaluate whether the kidney changes are related to PBC, medications you're taking, or another factor entirely. Your healthcare team can provide personalized guidance based on your complete health picture.

Regarding protein drinks, the available information doesn't specifically address whether they're hard on the system for people with PBC. This is another great question to bring to your doctor or a registered dietitian who specializes in liver conditions. They can advise you based on your current liver function, albumin levels, and overall nutritional needs.

Keep monitoring your labs regularly, as tracking changes over time helps your medical team manage your PBC effectively.
