I'm in need of some answers!! Could someone please help me with things that I can eat that's good for PBC? Thanks so much
I eat either chicken, fish, or ground turkey. I also brown rice eat instead of white. I eat sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes because they are better for you. If I eat fried foods I use olive oil instead of regular oil. I loosely follow the Mediterranean diet. I rarely eat out because I have a intolerance to lactose, no gallbladder, and PBC. I find that it's simpler to just eat at home.
@A myPBCteam Member I try to stick to a Mediterranean diet as much as I can at home, and when out, trying to make smart choices of things that aren't fried, cooked in butter, that sort of thing. It has improved my inflammation/pain a lot.
Costco has a quinoa mix and lentil mix that are easy to heat up and are pretty healthy for pre-made, I add in some roasted veggies and my dinner is done very quickly. If I am feeling the need for more protein, I will add in chicken sausage, (which is processed, but not as bad as other quick protein options), or salmon. It is my go to dinner/lunch several times a week.
We should be having 5-6 portions of fruits and veggies, so my snacks at work tend to be blueberries, apples, or grapes, great fiber options and I can snack without guilt, or trail mix is a good boost.
I could go on and on.. but really, just look for the Mediterranean diet options and you should be fine, in my experience.
