Is PBC Hereditary? What To Know Read Article...

I hate to tell you this but you are ill, your liver is really sick. Why would you then try and feed it alcohol when it’s already struggling to cope with what the PBC is throwing at it. You have to look after yourself as this road has lots of bumps in it on its own without you adding more.
Sorry but I know what it’s like in the later on story.
Keep well x

That's a pretty big ask for a liver that's already working overtime! Having 6 alcoholic drinks in one night is not recommended when living with PBC.

Here's why it's a concern:

- Your liver has to process every drop of alcohol you consume
- PBC already puts stress on your liver, and alcohol adds to that burden

That's a pretty big ask for a liver that's already working overtime! Having 6 alcoholic drinks in one night is not recommended when living with PBC.

Here's why it's a concern:

- Your liver has to process every drop of alcohol you consume
- PBC already puts stress on your liver, and alcohol adds to that burden
- Even moderate drinking can be risky depending on how your liver is currently functioning

The honest answer is that only your hepatologist can assess your specific liver condition and tell you whether any amount of alcohol is safe for you right now. If you do drink, it's really important to have an open conversation with your doctor about it. They can review your current liver health and help you understand the risks based on where you are in your PBC journey.

It's always better to ask than to guess when your liver is involved! 🙂
