Now that I know what I'm looking for, I had a flare up that lasted a couple of weeks. But yesterday I woke up out of the blue feeling great! No itching, tiredness and more importantly no feeling uncomfortable in my upper abdomen. Just like that, gone?
I've had fluctuations of symptoms lasting for various amounts of time. A lot depends on diet, exercise, stress, work schedule, etc. I retired last month and have noticed I'm feeling better lately. I have no itching. No more swelling in my ankles & feet like I was having. No stress. However, I'm getting labs done this week, so we'll see what the numbers say. π
Iβm in pain constantly, but now I know when Iβm experiencing flare ups, like right now, my legs have that deep irritation, my knees feel like they are burning, it seems so random when the flare ups happen.
Elaine, good to know!
That sudden relief you're feeling? Enjoy every second of it β you've earned it! π
PBC flare-ups don't follow a set schedule, and there's no defined "standard" duration. They can vary widely from person to person. Some last days, others weeks, and some can stretch longer. A myPBCteam member shared a similar experience, saying Show Full Answer
@A myPBCteam Member. hang in there. As you know already we just live thru them til we get to the other side!
